Values & Beliefs

Jesus Christ is the center point of God’s revelation. We are committed to a Jesus Christ-centered approach to Scripture, and to the community of faith, past and present, as the primary context in which we discern and apply its implication for a life of discipleship.

Jesus Christ is our example, teacher, friend, redeemer and Lord. He is the source of our life, the central referent point for our faith and life, for our understanding of the church and our engagement with society. We are committed to following Jesus as well as worshiping Him.

Reconciliation and the resulting peace between God and man, and between individuals is at the heart of the gospel. As followers of Jesus in a divided and violent world, we are committed to finding peaceful ways to reconciliation between individuals, among churches, and between nations.

We are called to discipleship and mission, a place of friendship, mutual accountability and multi-voiced worship. As we eat together, sharing bread and wine, we proclaim Christ crucified as we seek God’s kingdom together.

We desire to encourage people to think and to ask questions and to dialogue about spiritual matters. We believe that healthy faith formation happens best when people are open and honest with the challenges God’s Word brings to our lives (2Tim 3:16f)

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is as much a personal relationship as it is a communal one. By entering into relationship with the people of God we will best live as a Christian community. The goal here is not for outsiders to become like the group and do things the group is already doing, for the entire group is continually transformed, and challenged with each new member in the family.
